Annapurna Region Trekking

Annapurna trekking is regarded as the paradise of trekkers for it has been widely admired and liked by many people. Annapurna Trekking offers not only beautiful views of the mountains but also the many species of animals and birds such as leopard, blue sheep, Kokla, blood pheasant etc. Annapurna area is useful for those who love flora and fauna because 440 species of birds and animals can be found in Annapurna region.

Annapurna region has preserved some of the rare species of the insects on the earth. You can also find some native plants in the forest in Annapurna region. That's why the government of Nepal has declared Annapurna region as a conservation area. Few projects have been launched in Annapurna region to conserve the varieties of Orchid and rhododendrons including some species of flora and fauna. Apart from these natural bounties, you can also see amazing life styles of the indigenous people and their culture. They are residing in the steep hillsides for a long time.

Annapurna Treks

Annapurna region is diverse region for trekking in terms of geography and culture. Variety of diverse cultures, tribes and castes such as Brahmins, the Chettris, the Newars, the Gurungs, the Magars, Manangis and the Tibetan can be found in this region. Annapurna region is very much famous for sub-tropical lowlands, valleys, forests of bamboo, oak and rhododendron, alpine meadows, windswept desert plateaus and the towering Annapurna Mountains . The world's deepest river gorge Kali Gandaki also lies in Annapurna region. It lays 6900b blow the Annapurna I and Fishtail Mountain. Annapurna I is one of the world's eight highest mountains.

Getting there Annapurna region:

Regardless of the trek chosen it is most likely that Pokhara will be enter the starting or ending point of your trek. Pokhara is located 200km west of Kathmandu and can be reached by bus in five to six hours or by flight in thirty minutes from the capital.

Major Attractions of Annapurna region

The most prominent ethic in the groups in the Annapurna region is the Gurungs, Thakali, and Mangngba. The Gurungs are the most widely distributed being found from the hills of Gorkha district to as Far West as Palpa. The Thakali come from the upper Kali Gandaki Valley around Jomsom where their traditional forming has been supplement by trade and, in particular, hotel and restaurant business.
